2024 Drives

We started 2024 with the goal of going bigger than any other year, and wow, it was a busy one! Here’s everything we accomplished so far:

Sanitary products drive

ReYaGoBona partnered with Abraham Kriel Bambanani to collect and donate sanitary products to women who otherwise wouldn’t have had access to them. Participants played in a padel event to help raise funds for sanitary towels. Period poverty was a harsh reality in South Africa and affected many girls' ability to attend school. It was estimated that 7 million girls in the country did not have access to or could not afford sanitary products—7 million too many. We accepted donations and distributed them to the females at the Langlaagte Campus.

Food and Clothing DRIVE

In March, participants ran or walked at our in-person Run for a Cause event to raise funds for food packages for the children at Maria Kloppers Campus. In addition, clothes and blankets were donated in April in preparation for winter and were distributed to these children.

DEVELOPMENTAL SCREENING DRIVE

In May, several healthcare professionals volunteered their time and services to assist with the developmental screening of babies and toddlers at Maria Kloppers Campus. During this time, the children's Road to Health books were assessed, their developmental milestones were checked, and brief health examinations were conducted. Those requiring further assistance were advised to seek medical attention at the local clinic.

NELSON MANDELA DAY DRIVE:

To honour Nelson Mandela, volunteers gathered with us to decorate cupcakes for enjoyment.

MATRIC CARE PACKAGES DRIVE:

In October, several volunteers sponsored matric exam care packages for students writing their final matric exams. These packages were donated to all the matrics of Abraham Kriel Bambanani across various campuses.

CHRISTMAS SHOEBOXES DRIVE:

During November and December, several volunteers chose to sponsor Christmas presents for children at Maria Kloppers Campus. These gifts were donated just before Christmas and were received with immense joy and gratitude.
